Banjul, the capital city of The Gambia, is a small yet vibrant state situated on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. The city is uniquely positioned on St. Mary's Island, which is surrounded by the Gambia River on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Banjul covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometers and has a population of around 40,000 people, making it one of the smallest capitals in Africa.
