Gauteng, known as the "Place of Gold," is a vibrant and diverse province located in the northeastern region of South Africa. Covering an area of 18,178 square kilometers, it is the smallest province in the country, yet it is the most populous and urbanized, with over 15 million inhabitants. Gauteng is home to the nation's capital, Pretoria, as well as its largest city, Johannesburg, which serves as the economic and cultural hub of South Africa. Geographically, Gauteng is situated on the highveld plateau, with an average elevation of 1,500 meters above sea level.
