It is bordered by Yunnan to the west, Guizhou to the north, Hunan to the northeast, and Guangdong to the east. To the south, it shares an international border with Vietnam. Covering an area of 236,700 square kilometers, Guangxi is home to a population of approximately 50 million people, including the largest minority group in China, the Zhuang people. Geographically, Guangxi is characterized by its stunning karst landscapes, rolling hills, and winding rivers. The region has a subtropical climate, with mild winters and hot, humid summers. The topography varies from plains and basins in the central and eastern parts to mountains and plateaus in the west and north. The most famous river in Guangxi is the Li River, which flows through the region's most iconic landscapes, including the breathtaking karst peaks of Guilin and Yangshuo. Guangxi boasts a rich history and culture, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Neolithic age. The region was once part of the ancient kingdom of Baiyue, and later became a part of the Chinese empire during the Qin Dynasty.
