Digligur is the northernmost island of the Andaman island group. It is well maintained and infrastructurally decent. Diglipur is a little heaven for those who want to remain cut off from the rest of the commercially powered world. It is connected to other Islands like Rangat, Ross and Smith Island, etc. Diglipur has some of the pristine beaches like Ram Nagar Beach, Ariel Bay Beach, Pathi Level Beach, Kalipur beach, The Lamiya Bay. Another tourist attraction being Saddle Peak, which is 32 m high and is the longest in the Andaman Island groups. Trekking is greatly enjoyed but is quite difficult to quell. A few permits are required to enjoy this place. Gazillions of species of tall trees like sandalwood keep the forest cool. A freshwater stream runs through this very forest. Mud volcanos of Shyam Nagar are situated 20 km away from the main town of Diglipur, are larger than the mud Volcano of Baratang. Alfred Caves is a delightful group of 41 caves at Ram Nagar beach. Diglipur is home to a huge variety of exotic and gorgeous turtles that lay their eggs on its beaches.
