Vaishno Devi, located in Jammu and Kashmir, is one of the most famous pilgrimage destinations in India. It is considered to be one of the holiest Hindu shrines and is dedicated to the Hindu Goddess Vaishnavi. The shrine is situated at a height of 5300 feet above sea level and is surrounded by the picturesque Trikuta Mountains. The trek to the shrine is a 13 km long journey and the devotees can either walk or take a pony or a palanquin to reach the temple. The journey is filled with the chanting of mantras, singing of bhajans and prayers. The shrine is known for its spiritual and peaceful atmosphere and is a must-visit for all pilgrims.
