Welcome to Branson, the premier entertainment destination in America! Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains and surrounded by serene lakes and rivers, Branson offers a unique experience for travellers seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. Originally settled in 1882 by postmaster and store operator Reuben Branson, this charming township has a rich history that dates back over a century. In 1894, entrepreneur William Henry Lynch purchased the Marble Cave and began offering tours to visitors. Decades later, the cave was transformed into the visitor-friendly Marvel Cave, complete with electricity and staircases. The publication of Harold Bell Wright’s novel, The Shepherd of the Hills, in 1907, further solidified Branson’s reputation as a tourist destination. In the 1950s and 1960s, Branson saw a surge of attractions such as Silver Dollar City, the Old Mill Theater, Red Foley’s “Ozark Jubilee,” and the Table Rock Dam. However, the turning point for Branson came in 1991, when “60 Minutes” dubbed it the “live music capital of the entire universe.” This recognition brought a wave of growth to the theater, accommodation, dining, retail, real estate, and service industries.
