Welcome to Brian Head, Utah - a winter wonderland with the highest base elevation in the state at 9,800 feet! This charming town is perfect for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports from November through April. With over 650 acres of trails and runs, you'll find the perfect snow for your adventure. Despite its small population of fewer than 100 residents, Brian Head has a lot to offer. It's conveniently located less than an hour from Cedar City, the largest city in Iron County, and less than half an hour from Parowan, the county seat and oldest city. Iron County was originally colonized by followers of Brigham Young and named after the iron deposits found in the area. Although farming and agriculture were the main economy after the iron foundry failed, tourism became a major force in the area after the opening of Brian Head Resort in 1964. Today, Brian Head Resort has undergone several improvements and is a favorite destination for residents of nearby metropolitan areas like Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Plus, its central location to the five national parks in Utah gives visitors a plethora of opportunities for outdoor adventure.
