A little about Stok
At the foot of Stok Kangri, one of Ladakh’s most beautiful mountains and a popular trekking/mountaineering peak amd South of Leh (30mins from the airport) lies the small high-altitude village of Stok. Stok is home to Ladakh’s royal family and their Tibetan style palace that contains a small museum of regal religious artifacts and ceremonial clothes. The palace looks onto the village with its fields of barley, apricot orchards and local shepards going about their daily work. With the monasteries of Spituk and Stok Palace, this is the perfect place to observe unspolit Tibet-Ladakh culture.
